Being held in a safe and accepting space enables you to grow and transform, becoming the person who you really are. There is a natural capacity within all of us to grow, which can be nurtured when you are truly heard and understood.
No matter what you are experiencing, I will walk alongside you as you explore your issues, helping you to gain clarity and resolve inner conflicts. There may be times when I invite you to consider new ideas or activities that could be beneficial for your wellbeing, but these are always just suggestions that you can take or leave.
Working intuitively, I will help you to cultivate mindful awareness so that you can form a healthier relationship with your thoughts and emotions, getting in touch with all aspects of yourself.
Any of the services below can be brought into your counselling sessions, or you can choose to have counselling purely by itself. You have the freedom to shape each session, based on what you think will help you.
Mindfulness and Self-Inquiry
Much human suffering is caused by incessant thinking and emotional pain in the body. Through cultivating mindful awareness, we can learn to watch our thoughts come and go like flowing water, rather than getting swept away by the current. We can also learn to embrace our emotions as they rise up in the body, rather than pushing them away, as they want to be felt and released.
Developing mindful awareness will help you to be more present in the here-and-now, instead of getting swept off by anxious thoughts about the future or difficult thoughts about the past, such guilt or regret.
There are many ways to cultivate mindful awareness, such as through different meditations and breathing techniques, which can be taught to you during our sessions. When you learn to silence your chattering mind and face difficult emotions, you will generally feel more peaceful and less anxious or stressed, becoming more attuned to what you need and what’s going on within you.
Through self-inquiry, one can begin to awaken to their true nature. You begin to realise that you are not your passing thoughts or emotions, but the awareness that lies behind them. During our sessions, I can take you on a journey into yourself to discover who you really are and work through anything that is causing you distress.
When you begin to awaken to your true nature, you realise that mind, body and spirit are interconnected. As such, you may be seeking a more holistic approach to therapy on your path to wholeness and inner peace.
The process of awakening can be a difficult and confusing time, so you may need some support or guidance along the way. When you begin to awaken, you start becoming aware of your psychological conditioning and can no longer ignore or deny that which needs healing. You may be experiencing some anxiety and discomfort as you work through shedding these old patterns and allow your real self to emerge. You may find yourself becoming sensitive to other people’s energies and discovering that your internal world is inextricably connected to our external reality. For reasons that you cannot logically explain, you may find yourself seeking something beyond the material, knowing that there is ultimately more to who we really are.
The process of awakening can feel isolating if you are not surrounded by people who understand what you’re going through. As someone who has been going through my own process of awakening, I can help to guide you through this turbulent time. A lot of things can get shaken up as you connect to your inner truth, but the path to wholeness is ultimately very rewarding and beautiful.

It can be a challenge to stay centred throughout the storms, but I can hold space for you so that you can find clarity and tap into your own innate wisdom. Outdoor Walk-and-Talk Therapy
Being out in nature can help us to reconnect with ourselves, helping us to recharge our batteries and gain insight about our lives. The natural world is a great healer and really gives us that quiet space to contemplate things.
During these sessions, I will hold space for you just as I would in a normal counselling session. However, as we walk around outside, nature will act as a co-therapist, taking an active part in your healing. You may see things in the environment that reflects what is going on for you within – things that are highly symbolic or synchronistic.
In these modern times, humans have become disconnected from nature, which can adversely impact upon our wellbeing. We see the natural world as separate, even though we are intrinsically connected to it – to reconcile with nature helps us to heal ourselves.
Person-Centred Expressive Arts Therapy
Sometimes, it can be difficult to describe your feelings through words alone. Working with the expressive arts – whether it be through movement, storytelling, artwork or sound – can really help you to gain insight and express your emotions, receiving guidance from deep within.
Ancient cultures saw no difference between the arts and healing, viewing them as one and the same. They knew that to become whole, then they had to express all aspects of themselves – mind, body and spirit. We are all inherently creative beings and through the expressive arts, your real self can emerge in its totality.
Carl Rogers, founder of person-centred counselling, said that creativity was synonymous with being a fully-functioning person. Being creative helps you to express yourself without the need for approval, learning to take risks and embrace change in your life. The expressive arts can also help with problem-solving and decision-making, with powerful symbols emerging from your subconscious to help guide you and awaken your intuition.
Reiki is a form of energy healing that helps to alleviate stress and anxiety, bringing deep relaxation to the body. It can also help to shift trapped emotions and act as pain relief, reviving one’s spirit and peace of mind.
Receiving reiki is a very relaxing experience and helps to clear out any energetic blockages that may be affecting your mind, body and spirit. Over time, energetic blockages can manifest as physical, mental or emotional ailments, so removing them through reiki is great for your overall health and wellbeing.
Removing energetic blockages is like removing obstacles from a river so that the water can flow freely again. It can give you access to energy that has been locked away and help you to express your emotions more healthily.
